The wave frequency of ultrasound waves extends beyond the hearing threshold, about 20 kHz or more. The frequencies used for cutting are in the range of 20 kHz to 30 kHz. Ultrasonic waves are generated by a piezoelectric transducer that vibrates the cutting edge at high frequency, which is extremely effective in resonance and requires less power. As a result, when the heat load of the environment is low, the slices are neatly cut. There is no need to worry about the product sticking to the cutting edge. In addition, this process has other advantages, making it particularly suitable for cutting materials used in lightweight construction. In contrast to mechanical milling, ultrasonic cutting does not incur any material loss. There is no debris and the cutting edges are smooth and clean, so there is no need for trimming.
